Foods to control cancer


4th February is officially known as the World Cancer Day. People from all over the world shared their stories related to this deadly disease. Celebrities like Tahira Shah, Manisha Koirala came forward to extend their support to people ailing from this disease. We must remember that what we intake every day as food can affect our well-being. Cancer can be developed in the body either genetically or by food intake. 


Here’s how you can choose to eat right. The following are the foods that help you lower your risk of having cancer.

1. Banana


It is a tropical fruit and comes with many benefits. Always keep in mind the darker the skin of the banana, the healthier it is for the body. The fruit contains antioxidants that strengthen the immune system.

2. Garlic


Garlic also called "lahsun" has high sulphur compounds that strengthens the immune system of the body. The components of garlic helps in restraining the growth of tumor in the body.

3. Broccoli


It is proclaimed as a cancer-preventing food with all possible anticancer properties. It is high in sulforaphane which helps in the reduction of cancer cells in the body. This can be eaten raw, blanched or cooked. 

4. Lemon


This is a wonder fruit. It dwells with every other food which you consume every day. It is citrus in nature and cuts the risk of cancer growth in the mouth, skin, throat, and stomach.

5. Tea


It is advised that an individual should consume a cup of tea every day. Tea boosts the health and also acts as an antioxidant. Doctors advise patients to drink black tea without sugar and milk as it has the required properties for healing and cleansing of the body.

6. Cereals


Cereals contain high fibers. They are easy to digest in the stomach and reduce risk related to the body gaining weight. You can have it for breakfast mixing Greek yogurt with it.
