Ketogenic diet is gaining popularity these days. Ketogenic diet plays a vital role in weight loss, diabetes and epilepsy as it includes very low carb food.

Various fish and shellfish are keto friendly foods. Certain fishes namely salmon and other fish are rich in Vitamin B, potassium and selenium, yet they are carb-free.

 Low-Carb Vegetables

To choose food with high nutrition and less carb is a task. But no worries, you can choose non-starchy vegetables as they are low in calories and carbs like cabbage, bottleguard, spinach, cauliflower etc.


Who will not love a nutritious and delicious option for food? Cheese is the one with is nutritious along with mouth watery taste. 28 grams of cheddar cheese gives 1 gram of carbs, 7 grams of protein and 20% of the RDI that is a great combination of a healthy diet. You can also make yummy dishes like Palak Paneer, Cheese tomato, Paneer Tikka etc.

  Avocados are rich in several vitamins and minerals, including potassium. What's more, a higher potassium intake helps to transit you from a normal diet to a ketogenic diet easier. It improves cholesterol levels also.

     Egg is one of the ideal food for ketogenic diet as one large egg contains 1 gram of carbs and a good amount of protein may be more than 5 grams. Try eating omlette, half fry or simply boiled eggs.

    Coconut Oil

    Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), the main property of coconut oil is taken up by the liver and converted into ketones makes it a unique keto diet. You can add it in vegetables or can simply make a yummy bulletproof coffee out of it.

    Nuts and Seeds: 

     These are high in fat and low in carb. These are very healthy in nature. It helps to reduce the risk of heart attacks, depression etc. Its high fiber characteristic lead to healthier aging. Do add some Almonds and Walnuts in your diet.

    Ketogenic diet is also beneficial for certain cancers, Alzheimer's disease, and other diseases. While keto diet may seem challenging, but many nutritious foods can easily fit in this diet making it simpler to follow.
